From preparing and formatting your files to printing, shipping and fulfillment, we’re here to offer specialized, one-on-one service to help you every step of the way. That’s the PufferPrint difference.

Step 1: Get a Quote
First, get a free quote to estimate the price of your book project.
This is where you’ll specify how many copies of your book you want to print, the type of paper you want to use, and whether you want a hardcover, softcover, boardbook, or something else.
We’ll email you accurate pricing in 1-2 days, with an option to schedule a 15-minute call with you to discuss any questions you might have about our process.
We take the time to let you customize your book so it’s exactly the way you want it.
If anything changes about the book along the way — like page count or the number of books you need to order — it’s no problem. Simply let us know by email, and we’ll update your quote accordingly.
Step 2: Request Custom Dielines or Use our Print Formatting Service
Once you’ve got your quote and feel good about your project parameters, the next step is getting all your files properly formatted and ready to upload.
When you’re ready, you can email us to request custom dielines for your project. Based on your quote, these measurements will give you the exact dimensions of your book — down to the millimeter of your cover, spine, and interior pages.
Not sure what a dieline is? That’s just a fancy word for a 2D representation of a 3D object, which will be your book in full form. It will show us exactly where on the page your book will be printed, cut, or folded.
Even better, we can handle any formatting frustrations for you. That brings us to our next (optional) step.
Step 3 (Optional): Let Us Do the Formatting For You!
With all the work it took to get your book written, we understand if you’re looking for expert guidance when it comes to printing your book.
If the idea of formatting your manuscript makes your head spin, we can format your eBook or print book and even handle the cover design — all starting at just $299.
Step 4: Submit Your Files
Once your files are formatted and ready to go, it’s time to share them with PufferPrint.
You can submit your files through Dropbox, Google Drive, or our favorite, WeTransfer. You can send them to any of the email addresses you may have on file for PufferPrint, or use business@pufferprint.com
Once we receive your files, we’ll shoot you a digital proof within 1-2 days so you can check over everything one more time before we print.
Step 5: Order a Physical Proof
If you’re not sure about the best size, finishes, or paperweights for your book, no sweat!
The best way to ensure your book is exactly right is to physically hold it in your hands before placing a full order.
That’s why for $100, you can order a physical proof of a hardcover, softcover, or board book to see what your book looks, feels, and smells like (no judgment) before you print a full order.
Plus, a physical proof is a great opportunity to catch any last-minute formatting errors or typos! Your proof typically require a 3-week turnaround time from order to delivery.

Step 6: Request Final Edits
We know printing your self-published book is a huge achievement. That’s why we want it to be perfect for you — down to every comma and period.
If you have final edits after we’ve sent you the digital or physical proof, send us an email with your edit requests.
We’re always happy to make last-minute changes to your book and to run them by you one last time for peace of mind.
Step 7: Sit Back and Relax!
Once your order is submitted, it’s time to kick up your feet and wait for your books to arrive!
Depending on the size of your order and the complexity of your book, our book production process typically takes ~3 weeks. This includes manufacturing printing plates, preparing the printing presses, printing your pages, binding the book, packing and shipping from our print facility.
Shipping by air is an additional ~3 weeks (~6 weeks total), and by sea is another ~6-8 weeks (9-11 weeks total). We can also ship part of your order by air and the remainder by sea. Read more about our shipping options.
Before you know it, your beautiful books will be at your doorstep. Then the real work starts: marketing your self-published book.
